§ 100138.06. Trauma Center. “Trauma center” or “trauma facility,” means a licensed general acute care hospital with a special permit for basic or comprehensive emergency services which is verified by the American College of Surgeons as a Level I, II, or III trauma center or a Level I or II pediatric trauma center, or meets the requirements for a Level IV under Section 100141.03 of this subchapter and has been designated as a trauma center or pediatric trauma receiving center by the local EMS agency according to the requirements of this chapter. A facility may be designated as a trauma center for specific types of trauma services based on local system needs and the facility's capabilities and is not required to provide the full range of trauma services.
